This section shares the stories of out and proud queer Black people who do not identify with the cisgender binary of gender expression. Storytellers in this section may go by a wide range of labels and identities: genderqueer, gender nonconforming, genderfuck, androgynous, genderless, agender, non-binary, and more. Each storyteller offers their own unique perspectives based on their individual opinions and lived experiences. The full collection of queer Black stories is divided into general, broadly-titled sections meant to capture a wide range of various identities. Some stories may be listed in multiple sections to best reflect the personal identity of the storyteller. QueerBlackVoices emphasizes emotionally authentic expression over academically proper structure, and works to preserve the natural tone, flow, and style of the storyteller in every piece that is collected and shared.
